Where's Cheezhead?

This story accompanies The HR Blogosphere.

By Jared Shelly

Blogging at Cheezhead.com, Joel Cheesman has emerged as one of the most successful HR bloggers in cyberspace.

He was named the No. 1 HR blog by the Fistful of Talent blog and No. 2 by HR World -- an online Web site targeted to HR professionals. Cheezhead got more than 50,000 unique visitors in August, according to www.compete.com, a Web-site-usage tracker.

But since Sept. 9, Cheezhead has gone dark. The headline for the last entry says it all: "Jobing Acquires Cheezhead."

Not only did Jobing acquire the blog, it acquired the Cheesman Group and named Joel Cheesman as its senior vice president. He has since moved from Cleveland to Jobing's company headquarters in Phoenix.

So is this the end for Cheezhead?

No, he's just taking a little break.

Cheesman says that he will begin blogging again in January, although an exact date has not yet been determined.

So what should readers should expect from "Cheezhead 2.0?"

One thing seems clear -- his days of bashing certain job boards (like his campaign against Monster) are over.

"The new stuff will be more business-like but a specific direction has not been determined either," he says. "As discussed during the acquisition in September, however, it will not be a place where other industry players are criticized. We don't feel it's strategically beneficial to do so."
