Michael Alicea
Senior Vice President of Human Resources
The Nielsen Co.

Global information and media company The Nielsen Co., headquartered in New York, appointed Michael Alicea to the position of senior vice president of human resources for its global media client services unit.

Alicea began his career with the company in 1995 as a human resource manager for the media information group, and then rose to the position of vice president of human resources for Nielsen Media Research. In 2005 he was named senior vice president of human resources for Nielsen Business Media.

He holds a degree in human resources and organizational management from Baruch College.

Gregory W. Broome
Senior Vice President of Human Resources
Willis Group Holdings

Global insurance broker Willis Group Holdings, based in New York, appointed Gregory W. Broome as senior vice president of human resources. He reports to Don Bailey, chairman and CEO of the company, as well as Susan Sztuka, the company's group director for HR.

Most recently, Broome was an HR business partner at American Century Investments. He also spent 16 years working at Goldman Sachs and another five years at Philip Morris, where he held various HR positions.

He earned an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan and has been an adjunct teacher in the masters' programs at The New School University and Pace University. He is a certified compensation professional and a leader in the Wall Street Compensation & Benefits Association.

Leesa Ferguson
Vice President of Human Resources
Heifer International

Leesa Ferguson was promoted to vice president of human resources at Heifer International, a Little Rock, Ark.-based agricultural training provider.

Since 2006, Ferguson served as interim vice president of human resources at the company, which she joined in 2003 as director of internal communications. Previously, she was a senior marketing manager at Alltel Corp.

She holds a bachelor's degree in public administration from the University of Central Arkansas.

Kenneth A. Finneran
Chief People Officer of the Americas
Hellmann Worldwide Logistics

Kenneth A. Finneran was promoted to the position of chief people officer of the Americas for Doral, Fla.-based support services provider Hellmann Worldwide Logistics.

Prior to the promotion, Finneran was vice president of human resources for the company. Before he joined Hellmann, he was president and CEO of Intellectual Capital Management, an international consultancy based in Wroclaw, Poland.

Finneran earned a master's degree from the University of Bonn and a bachelor's degree in international studies from American University.

Robert C. Fox II
Senior Vice President of Human Resources
RSC Equipment Rental Inc.

RSC Equipment Rental Inc., an equipment-rental provider based in Scottsdale, Ariz., appointed Robert C. Fox II as senior vice president of human resources.

Fox joined the company from Carlson Cos., where he spent the past four years as vice president of human resources. Prior to that, he served as vice president of HR at dj Orthopedics. He also spent nearly 20 years in human resource positions of increasing responsibility at Honeywell Inc.

Fox holds a degree in economics from the University of Wisconsin.

Diane Peck
Vice President of Human Resources
Stanford University

Stanford University, in Palo Alto, Calif., promoted Diane Peck from executive director to vice president of human resources. She reports to university president John Hennessy.

Peck joined the university in 2003 as executive director of human resources after spending two years as an independent HR consultant.

She previously held the title of senior vice president for human resources at H.E. Butt Grocery Co., and she was also vice president of human resources, and later senior vice president at Safeway Inc.

She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration and finance from the University of Southern California.

Thomas D. Snowberger
Senior Vice President of Human Resources
Battelle

Battelle, a nonprofit, independent research-and-development organization headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, hired Thomas D. Snowberger as senior vice president of human resources.

Snowberger joined the company from DHL Holdings, where he was senior vice president of human resources. Before joining DHL, he served as senior vice president of human resources for the University Hospitals System in Cleveland.

He also held HR management positions with LG&E Energy Corp., National Service Industries Inc., and PPG Industries Inc.

He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa.

Tiffany Stringfellow
Vice President of Human Resources
DAVACO Inc.

Dallas-based retail-services provider DAVACO Inc. named Tiffany Stringfellow to the position of vice president of human resources. She reports to Gerry Geddis, company president and CEO.

Stringfellow joined the company in 2007 as an HR manager for field operations and was promoted to director of human resources in 2008. Prior to joining the company, she worked in employee relations for both Sanmina-SCI and Ultratech Stepper.

She holds a bachelor of science degree from Southern Methodist University and is a member of the Society for Human Resource Management and the Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Ann Thomas
Vice President of Human Resources
SciQuest Inc.

SciQuest Inc., a Cary, N.C.-based strategic procurement provider, appointed Ann Thomas vice president of human resources.

Prior to joining the company, Thomas was a director at the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, before which she served as vice president and HR business partner for the Social and Statistical Sciences Group at RTI International.

She holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Redlands in California.
